R&D
EXTENDE offers its skills to help you optimize your testing methods and adopt innovative and efficient solutions.
In this regard EXTENDE participates in the R&D effort mobilized around CIVA and Non Destructive Testing in general.
- EXTENDE has a Research and Development Agreement with the CEA and contributes to the improvement of CIVA software.
Notably, EXTENDE funds experimental characterization and theoretical research actions on the models implemented in CIVA. The results of these works are available under our “Validation” menu and are regularly updated.
- EXTENDE also takes part in national and international R&D projects. These collaborative projects allow EXTENDE to contribute to the improvement of everyone’s knowledge in NDT and simulation related products. These projects take part in the conception of the future CIVA versions.
EXTENDE is a member of the following competitivity clusters:

MacSim
EXTENDE takes part in the ANR project MACSIM.
The MACSIM project aims at bringing in the CIVA software a new module for Acoustic Emission (AE) Non Destructive Testing.
Largely used for testing pieces like pressure devices, nuclear submarine stokeholds or aeronautic structures, the developments that will come out of the project will provide a new simulation tool, unique in the world for this technique.
The MACSIM consortium is composed of the following partners:

Mosaics
EXTENDE takes part in the ANR project MOSAICS.
The MOSAICS project aims at developing and validating simulation tools for ultrasonic testing of austenitic welds in 3D configurations.
The MOSAICS project is an Industrial Research project selected by the AAP Digital Models on Thematic Axis: “Modeling and simulation of complex systems” and “Uses and Applications”.
The project consortium is composed of the following partners:

ASAP
EXTENDE takes part in the ANR project ASAP.
This project is accredited by the competitivity clusters SYSTEMATIC, I-Trans and MOVE’O.
This project aims at improving car security through the testing of Spot welds.
The project consortium is composed of the following partners:

SIMPOSIUM
EXTENDE takes part in the European project SIMPOSIUM.
This project aims at gathering simulation tools within a same interoperable platform that would make possible the virtual testing of complex components (shape and structure) from the early stages of their conception.
SIMPOSIUM will benefit from a dedicated website.
The project consortium is composed of fifteen partners:
