The high-energy radiation is only produced when the tape is peeled\u00a0<span class=\"g-color1\">under vacuum conditions<\/span>. So, unless you wrap your holiday gifts under these conditions, there\u2019s no need to worry about exposure!<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"mise-en-valeur2\">How is this phenomenon produced?<\/span><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>It seems like that during the detachment of the plastic film, the adhesive tape is positively charged while the roller is negatively charged. This produces an electric field that creates an electron discharge.
