This is based on a <strong><span class=\"g-color2\">hybrid method <\/span><\/strong>using the fast and efficient pencil models to simulate beam propagation connected with a<span class=\"g-color2\"> <strong>FEM beam\/defect calculation<\/strong> <\/span>in box(es) around defect(s). You can deal with issues such as defect tip sharpness impact, <span class=\"g-color3\">defect sizes below the wavelength<\/span>, or complex wave modes generated at the defect interaction such as <span class=\"g-color3\">creeping waves<\/span>. Some <span class=\"g-color2\"><strong>random variability<\/strong><\/span> can also be introduced in the crack morphology to evaluate its impact on the <span class=\"g-color2\">detection sensitivity<\/span>.
