It includes modelling, imaging and analysis tools, that help to <span class=\"g-color2\">design and optimize inspection methods<\/span> and to <span class=\"g-color2\">predict<\/span> their performance for realistic configurations.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>The <span class=\"g-color3\">validation of the code<\/span> is crucial for users as they have to know if the results obtained with <span class=\"g-color1\">CIVA <\/span>simulations are <span class=\"g-color3\">reliable and accurate<\/span> in the case of their configurations.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>The validation of <span class=\"g-color1\">CIVA <\/span>code consists in <span class=\"g-color3\">evaluating the reliability\/accuracy of its predictions<\/span> by comparing these predictions to <span class=\"g-color3\">reference results<\/span>. In general, these are obtained by experiments on mock-ups (<span class=\"g-color3\">experimental validation<\/span>), but they may also be obtained using <span class=\"g-color3\">other codes or models<\/span> (model benchmarking, which will be called \u201cnumerical\u201d validation here).<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>These validations are shared with the community on <span class=\"g-color1\">EXTENDE<\/span>\u2019s website.
