EXTENDE News - October 2020
TraiNDE UT 1.2 and Device Connected option are now available

With TraiNDE UT 1.2, you can now directly plug our virtual mock-up into a real UT flaw detector!

Still no block and no couplant to handle, and you can train on your own system wherever your want! You will benefit from the TraiNDE UT advantages (easy and fast set-up, all students can work on the same block, pertinent exercises, educational tools, etc.) without having to learn a new system, as you will use your own. As a manufacturer, you can travel and show your UT flaw detector with our virtual mock-up, without needing to carry dozens of heavy blocks to demonstrate the advantages of your device to the world!

Take a look at our video, and visit our dedicated brand new TraiNDE website and our blog for more information, and of course, do not hesitate to contact us!

In addition to the new add-on option CIVA Script, presented in the next entry of this newsletter, CIVA 2020 SP2 includes some noticeable enhancements, such as:
  • The capability to export in text files the results obtained within the metamodel analysis environment
  • In UT Analysis, a new Plug-In available to import "Prelude" acquisition data files (format by TPAC, *.stpacq) (see the related blog article)
  • In UT, a new option for the TCG built-in tool, which is now available in 3D for more accurate calibrations, and which is now also compatible with TFM data
  • In UT, the capability to include a hetereogeneous weld in Nozzle parametric geometries
  • In ET (2D Cyl.), the capability to define a ferrite core in Bobbin-probe-like tube inspections
Thanks to our continuous improvement commitment and to your feedback through our support service, this Service Pack also fixes some 100 issues in the related modules of the CIVA platform.

Users with a valid license and maintenance contract for CIVA 2020 should have received the download link for SP2 a few weeks ago through a dedicated emailing.

CIVA Tip: Max beam only

A new feature called "Max beam only" has been developed in the "Beam computation" module of CIVA UT to reduce the size of the result file and the computation time. Thanks to this option, it is possible to directly obtain the beam in Transmission/Reception at the end of the calculation process, whereas by default, a post-processing is necessary. [...] Read more
