This version of the radiographic training simulator is a major step forward for the digitalization of NDE training courses!
TraiNDE RT 1.4 includes monitoring features to record information on trainees' practice. TraiNDE RT has also been adapted for remote and network sessions.
You need solutions to practice RT before an exam, for proficiency maintenance, or to justify practice time? Now, you have TraiNDE RT v1.4.

A new service pack for CIVA 2025 is available!
CIVA 2025 SP2 is an important update which includes significant new features, improvements and corrections. The new features include:
- CIVA RT: A New Photons Counting detector type!
- CIVA UT: New flaw orientation angles following the manipulators' settings to ease the parametrization of flaw orientation
- CIVA UT: Calibration feature added in the "Finite Element Inspection" module
- CIVA ET: A new "reference point" menu to balance Eddy Current signals more easily
- CIVA ET: New "2D CAD" flaws
- CIVA Analysis: Compatibility with Capture 5.1
- CIVA Script: Customization of Python environment
And many issues have been fixed in the different simulation modules of CIVA and the batch manager.
Our users with a valid maintenance contract will receive this update within the next few days. |

We would like to spotlight a presentation made by Adam Wick from Naval Nuclear Laboratory at the ASNT 2025 conference (October 2025 in Orlando, Florida).
This presentation is titled: "Beam Modeling, Novel Mockup Fabrication Approach, and Preliminary Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing (PAUT) Data Analysis Supports Viability of an Artificial Intelligence-based Aid for Single-Bevel Weld Inspection in 6-inch Schedule 120 304 Stainless Steel Pipes".
It highlights results obtained during a collaborative project between the Naval Nuclear Laboratory, ARCTOS Technology Solutions, nde4zero, Top Notch EDM, and EXTENDE. The project aims to develop an AI-based strategy to analyze PAUT data from austenitic weld inspections. CIVA UT simulations were carried out during this project to assist with probe and technique selection and to evaluate the detectability for different flaw types.

Today, we have the pleasure of spotlighting Alexandre Bleuze in this interview about his activities at Framatome Intercontrôle and the use of CIVA software and other simulation in NDE services there.
You are an engineer in the "studies" department of Framatome Intercontrôle. Could you describe the activities of this entity and your role within it?
Framatome Intercontrôle, ever since its creation in 1974 (as a joint venture between the CEA and Technip), has focused on the design and on-site implementation of automated inspection processes for nuclear components: initially for in-service inspections (France, Belgium, South Africa, etc.), but also for research and construction projects (ASTRID, RJH, ITER, EPR2, etc.). The in-service inspection machine (MIS) dedicated to the inspection of pressurized water reactor vessels (through television, ultrasound, and radiography) and the steam generator tube inspection system (Eddy Current testing) are the main activities for which Intercontrôle is known.
