| TraiNDE RT v1.4 includes remote usage and monitoring of trainees! |
| |

|
|
TraiNDE RT v1.4 enters its final stage of beta testing. The commercial release is planned for later this spring.
This version will offer network and cloud licensing solutions for remote training management. Trainers can customize the session's content in advance to easily initialize remote users' sessions.
Trainers will also be able to monitor the trainees' work: data is retrieved from remote users, i.e. practice time, exercises performed, number of trials and examination reports.
This will dramatically improve the speed and ease of the evaluation process, as well as provide sound justification for tracking and counting relevant practice time of practitioners before sitting for an NDT exam or project. |
| NDE trainers: this video is for you! |

|
|
With this first TraiNDE UT Practice Class video available on our YouTube Channel, you will learn how TraiNDE UT can be used to teach calibration of a straight-beam contact probe with a V1-block and SDHs DAC-block, whether teaching in-person or virtually online.
In addition to a realistic testing experience and among other advantages, TRAINDE UT offers:
- Plenty of educational tools to "see the invisible" and better understand physical phenomena
- An extensive set of training exercises tailored to different applications that fits on a single laptop
- The capacity to work in parallel on the same "mock-up"
- Zone Coverage Tools to practice and check your scanning accuracy and speed — something that cannot be done on a real block!
Simulators augment practice on real blocks, as part of a more effective and efficient training process! |

| Record training activity at EXTENDE in 2025 |
| |

|
|
2025 was marked by a record number of training sessions provided by EXTENDE, for both CIVA software and the "Reliability in NDE" course. A total of 186 people were trained over the course of the year, with a high satisfaction rating of 18.6/20!
In 2026, we keep our focus on providing training that enables you to be more efficient with our tools. Thus, after expanding our training team over 2025, we continue to strengthen it in 2026 as well.
Now is more than ever a great time to get to know CIVA 2025 and its new features and to increase your knowledge about reliability in NDE!
The detailed programs as well as the training dates for our intercompany training courses are available in the training courses section of our website and in our training catalogs, which can be downloaded from there. |
| Interview of Lindsey Lindamood |

|
|
Today, we have the great joy of having Lindsey Lindamood joining us for this interview about her activities at the Edison Welding Institute and the use of simulation in NDE and CIVA software there.
Could you describe the activity of the Edison Welding Institute and how it relates to NDT?
EWI focuses on advanced manufacturing technologies, which includes materials joining and ancillary technologies such as destructive and nondestructive testing. We develop or expand applications for existing technologies, transition new technologies from R&D to commercial use, and perform internal R&D for the development of new technology to fill gaps in industry. NDT at EWI may be a standalone project to address specific NDT concerns from a client, but often it is included in a program led by one of our welding teams as a necessary component to verify joint quality. | CIVA Tip: Flaw signal and lift-off signal superposition in CIVA ET |
| |

|
|
For some inspections sensitive to the lift-off signal, it is important to separate the flaw signal from the lift-off signal. The lift-off signal is then evaluated during the calibration phase, and a phase rotation is generally applied so that this signal is oriented in a particular phase, allowing it to be easily distinguished from the target flaw signal.
The Probe Response module of CIVA ET makes it easy to compute the lift-off signal for a given sensor and component. In this module, after defining the configuration, it is possible to define a range of variation for the lift-off at a given frequency and to quickly obtain the lift-off signal. [...] Read more |
