| CIVA Users Community Event | ||
|
Our first CIVA Users Community Event last month was a great success, thanks to the active involvement of the entire CIVA community! We were delighted to present a preview of CIVA 2025, the upcoming new version of CIVA software, which is expected to be released this summer with many new features and improvements. With nearly a hundred participants - including established, new and future users - the day and a half event allowed for numerous constructive exchanges, discussions, and interactions between CIVA users, the EXTENDE team, and members of the CEA LIST team, the software's developers. Furthermore, the event featured several customer presentations that underscored the broad spectrum of industrial applications enabled by CIVA, the global leader in the field of NDT simulation. You can access some of these presentations from the Publications section of our website. We thank you all and look forward to seeing you again soon. |

| EXTENDE is now ISO19443 certified! | ||
|
Standard ISO19443 is an extension of the international standard ISO9001 for organizations in the supply chain of the nuclear energy sector supplying products and services important to nuclear safety (ITNS). EXTENDE has extended its Quality Management System to include the specific requirements of ISO19443 for its consulting activity in the nuclear sector. This certification demonstrates the real application of our core values : rigor, efficiency, an ever-questioning attitude, and a strong nuclear safety culture. It validates the essential purpose of our company, which is the preservation of structures, nuclear safety, and, consequently, the preservation of our environment. |

| The EXTENDE team is growing | ||

EXTENDE is happy to welcome Baptiste Bost into our technical team. He will be based in our South-West office in Pessac (Bordeaux), France. Baptiste graduates from the university of Bordeaux-Talence, with a Master degree in "Computing and Simulations". He will be working with our CIVA technical support, consulting, and R&D team as well. We are very glad to include Baptiste in the EXTENDE team. We are sure his energy, his skills, and his young vision will benefit to the whole group. Welcome Baptiste! |

| Release 1.3.1 for TraiNDE RT | ||
|
An update of the training simulator for Radiographic Testing TraiNDE RT has been released recently with version 1.3.1. This update includes several evolutions, including the compatibility with VR headset Pico 4 Ultra Entreprise. You can read our blog article for more information about the different improvements. | CIVA Education release 2.0 soon available | ||
|
We are running the last series of tests before releasing a brand-new version of the educational version of CIVA software, dedicated to training and teaching institutions to illustrate the physics behind NDT! This new version will benefit from the recent evolutions of the CIVA environment (CIVA Desk, analysis toolbar, more advanced ray tracing tools, etc.), and will also include new capabilities that were until now only available in the industrial version of CIVA, such as TFM simulation in UT, an enlarged flaw library in ET, and the accounting of the scattered radiation (order 1) in RT. CIVA Education will also include a GWT module, giving access to dispersion curves calculation in planar and cylindrical components. Existing CIVA Education users will benefit from an attractive access to this update. Let's keep in touch and get ready for the final release! |

| CIVA Tip: Internal and external counterbore slopes around a parametric weld in CIVA UT | ||
|
It is now possible in CIVA UT to parametrically define counterbore / skidding slopes on internal and external walls around a weld. To do this, simply define a "Weld" geometry type in the "Specimen" panel, and activate the slopes in the "Dimensions > Thickness, counterbore > Skidding > With skidding" panel. You must then define a length and an angle for each slope (single slope on external wall and double slopes on internal wall). [...] Read more | |
