MacSim, acoustic emission

MacSim

EXTENDE participated in the MACSIM project, supported by the National Reseach Agency (ANR).

MACSIM aimed at the possibility for the CIVA platform to integrate a new module simulating Acoustic Emission (AE) Non Destructive Testing.

Used for the inspection of numerous specimen like pressure equipment, nuclear submarines' boiler rooms or aeronautic structures, the developments resulting from the project will make the world benefit from a new simulation tool, unique for this method.

MACSIM gathered the following partners:

CEA LIST
CETIM
DCNS
EADS Innovation Works
UTC Compiègne (laboratoire Roberval)
EXTENDE

This project led to important progress in the field of Acoustic Emission simulation, and will probably allow future versions of CIVA to integrate this method in a new module.
