Corner echoes with Transverse (SV) mode

This page contains the validation results obtained during “pulse-echo” inspection, in transversal mode (SV mode), of rectangular backwall breaking notches. Results for longitudinal mode (P mode) inspections are available on another page

The following experiments are performed on different planar specimens. The goal is to study, for both immersion and contact probes, the influence of some parameters (height, length, and refraction angle) on CIVA predictions. The last section explains some phenomena and remember CIVA limitations, especially for small defects and critical angles.
